Jason Evans was born in Rexburg, Idaho and has lived in Indiana, Oregon and California. He began working in the almond business with his father, starting as a field laborer and working his way up to production manager. He went on to work developing database systems for tree nut companies. He has 15 years of software design and IT experience and has coded, implemented, and maintained multiple database solutions.

Jason and his wife have three daughters and one son and have lived in Chico for the past nine years. He enjoys wood working, sculpting, reading, and spending time with family.
